Impact begins within

At the Lives and Livelihoods Fund (LLF), our mission is to break down the barriers that prevent individuals, organizations, and governments in the lowest-income countries from accessing the resources that empower them to lift themselves out of poverty.

Our investments are only as effective as our implementation. To achieve our mission at such a large scale, we must maintain exceptionally high operational standards: excellent project management, rigorous monitoring and evaluation (M&E), and a culture of learning and adaptation.

Two years ago, the LLF embarked on a transformative 3-year journey to Embed Adaptive Results-Based Management (aRBM) throughout its portfolio. The aRBM program seeks to integrate adaptive project management tools and practices that will help us consistently deliver real results for LLF beneficiaries.

aRBM has greatly improved our data collection processes, transitioning from a monthly to a daily data collection system. This change has allowed us to analyze truck usage data daily and, starting in February 2024, track additional metrics like waste weight, truck rotations, frequency of use, and fuel utilization. The rigorous execution of activities has notably boosted our overall project performance.

Since the project's inception, there was no support for communication and visibility. However, with the roll-out of aRBM, a new dimension has been added through the development of an LLF communications playbook, toolkit and implementation plan, as well as training and potential budget allocation from our existing LLF funds.
